CAREGIVERS

Caregiver is the term used for individuals liable for carrying out the requests of general practitioners and specialist doctors. These persons will provide care for patients as requested by doctors. In our times, many patients need professional caregivers. Receiving care from a care-giver professionally will have great positive effects on your health. Therefore, those who wish to recover soon or have the things done requested by their doctors professionally can apply for caregivers. Caregivers can work as freelancers, or they can work under a healthcare organization. At the same time, individuals who wish to work as caregivers can work as a public official by taking the KPSS exam after they get their diplomas. We will discuss these subjects in detail under subheadings.

Caregivers give services to patients according to the instructions of general practitioners and specialists. Therefore, it is not possible for them to act independently. The range of their jobs is very large. While some patients will need physical exercises, some others will need massaging. Let us consider several duties in this wide range of duties.

  • To encourage the patient to exercise in order to keep them active,
  • The general body care of patients is the responsibility of caregivers.
  • They assume the duties including making beds and preparing food.
  • They will apply for emergency care in case the conditions of the patients get worse.

Qualifications Required for Caregivers

Caregivers must be enduring individuals as they will give services to other individuals and these individuals will be sick persons. Individuals who are intact psychologically are suitable to be caregivers. Since caregivers can assume the care of patients such as Alzheimer patients, patience and tolerance are a must. As you know, conditions such as absent-mindedness or stubbornness are common in such diseases. If you are untrained for care giving and intolerant, consequences will be good neither for you, nor the patient. Therefore, you must complete your training completely, and you must start your business life by never forgetting what have been taught.

How to be a caregiver?

Training is required to be a caregiver directly. You must read the “Services Given to Patients and the Elderly” section in the lists. Likewise, it is possible to find sections related to care giving to patients in university departments. Therefore, caregivers are given a solid training. They adopt themselves to conditions and behaviors requested by doctors for their patients during their training in high school and university. Graduates of the primary school also have a chance to be caregivers. They can get diplomas after attending various trainings and seminars given in Public Training Centers.
